The Sojourn is designed to Universal Design standards and is completely accessible.

The kitchen has a 24" bottom freezer full sized refrigerator, 24" induction cooktop, 18" built-in dishwasher, 24" wall oven/microwave and accessible sink. There is a stacked washer/dryer in the utility room. All countertops are 31" above finished floor for easy access. All appliances are electric and will be Energy Star rated.

The bathroom has a comfort height toilet with grab bars behind and to one side, a roll-in shower with grab bars and hand held shower head and an accessible vanity sink. All plumbing fixtures will be Water Sense rated.

The ADU will have R-49 batt insulation the attic with a raised heel truss and R-21 batt insulation in the 2 x 6 exterior walls. The slab foundation will have 2" rigid insulation throughout and the optional floor joists will have R-30 batt insulation.

This unit will have a Cold Climate Air Source Heat Pump rated down to -22 degrees Fahrenheit with a variable speed compressor, energy star rated, defrost mechanism and noise reduction technology. Hot water will be provided by a tankless electric water heater in the utility room.

This ADU has 30 year architectural asphalt shingles and Hardie Panel SmartSide panel siding, soffits and trim. The Sojourn is designed to easily add future solar roof panels with storage in the utility room.
