Help us pick the best Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) designs!

The ADU Model Plan Library will offer Flagstaff community members tools to simplify and reduce the costs of constructing an ADU and accelerate housing availability in Flagstaff.

Designers and architects participated in a model plan competition to help create our library. More than 30 plans were submitted and reviewed by a committee made up of community members and City staff. They selected 10 designs to be included in the Model Plan Library. Now, we are turning to the community to choose their favorite designs. All of the 10 designs will be included in the Model Plans Library, but the top 3 Community Choice Awardees will receive an additional award.

Award Types

Three ADU designs will be selected to receive a Flagstaff Community Choice Award.

  • The design that receives the most votes will receive a $1,000 prize.
  • The design that receives the second largest number of votes will receive an $800 prize.
  • The design that receives the third largest number of votes will receive a $600 prize.

How to participate:

  1. Review ADU designs below:
    • Each design comes with a descriptive narrative offering more information - click the link to read the narrative.
    • Some designs come with multiple visuals - white dots below the image will indicate if more visuals are available. Click the arrows on the image to see other pages.
    • If you want to enlarge the photos, right-click on the selected images and select "Open image in new tab"
  2. Make an account with Connect Flagstaff
  3. Select your favorite using the dropdown menu at the bottom of the page. Click submit!
  4. One vote per person. Voting ends April 18th at 5 PM
